1) What AI-generated design did you create?
- I had AI design an app to help people manage their closets. I wanted an app that helps you understand what you have in your closet already, what you actually need, and things you may want. Something for people tor reference all the time to either hone in on their personal style, or put some boundaries on their consumption. \

2) Was generative AI a good designer or assistant?
– Honestly I thought Ai did a pretty good job in terms of iterating the functions for the app. It was so crazy to see solutions appear in seconds that can take me days to come up with.
3) What accelerated your design process?
– My design process was accelerated by being able to instantly receive results that usually take me a long time o come up with by myself. I was also satisfied with the initial outline of the app, because I defined what I was looking for instead of letting AI do that
4) What slowed you down?
– I was slowed down because I didn’t have the full extent of project understanding that comes with actually designing myself. This made it harder to chose the final layout
5) How might you approach your design process differently using tools like these in the future?
– In the future, I would complete more of the preliminary design process, and then turn to AI to help flesh out problems I run into, or generate more ideas on top of what I have to ensure I’m not missing anything important. I would also play more of a role throughout the whole process, instead of just copy/pasting everything.
6) What are the ethical implications of completely outsourcing UX design to AI?
– Using AI to design for UX becomes an ethical problem because humans and their behavior is very nuanced, and AI lacks the ability to recognize and apply it to design. This is a crucial part of UX design, and not being able to consider all applicable audiences to a design will ultimately lead to design flaws and an inability to satisfy people’s needs.
